Our Operations during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic:
We remain open during this Coronavirus pandemic to see your children! Following the guidelines set out by the State of Virginia as well as by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we ask that you do the following to help keep our healthcare workers and other patients safe:
- only one parent per child stays in the building during their appointment
- face masks or face shields are to be worn inside.
- please arrive with your child fifteen minutes early before the appointment.
- please observe social distancing within our waiting room
- if the child and/or family member tests positive for COVID-19, displays symptoms of the virus, or has been in close contact with someone confirmed positive for the virus, we ask that you inform the clinical staff before the child comes in for their scheduled visit.
- symptoms include, but are not limited to, fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, chills, muscle aches, and loss of taste or smell.
Our providers will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and patients expressing symptoms of COVID-19 may be examined within your vehicle instead of within our facility.
For additional information regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019, please refer to the CDC guide on the virus here.

Handling of forms to be signed by a provider (such as physical examination forms)
Forms and paperwork must be delivered to the practice, either directly or by fax. Physicians need at least three to seven days to review the paperwork before the documents may be signed and returned to the patient.
If your child will need a physical exam done for the upcoming school year, then a well-visit ought to be scheduled if the patient had not been seen by our providers within the past year. We ask that you schedule well in advance before school starts, so that you can secure an appointment before the influx of last-minute scheduling occurs! The earlier, the better.
Scheduling an appointment for the first time for an appointment at Virginia Pediatrics.
In order to be able to register new patients to our practice, parents must come to our office to sign a medical release form allowing us to obtain previous medical and immunization records.
Please note that during peak seasons, such as during the start of the school year, we might be unable to immediately register and schedule new patients (this does not apply to newborn children).
For Newborns:
Our providers prefer to see newborn children within the recommended time period following discharge from the hospital by the hospitalist provider. We ask that newborn discharge paperwork be brought for the first visit for our continuity of care. We recommend (but do not require) that newborns be seen periodically for the first two years of life for check-ups and vaccinations.
Insurances we Accept:
- Aetna
- Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Cigna (NOT Cigna Connect)
